Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Rafael transitioned from engineering to studying music at the University of São Paulo in 2006. Discover the Handpan
The handpan, known for its flying-saucer look, is a round steel drum you play with your hands. Invented about 25 years ago and related to the Trinidad steel pan. The handpan sound is warm, bell-like, and calm, often feeling peaceful or playful. People enjoy it at home, in parks, at small concerts, and in yoga or sound-bath classes. It’s easy to start, fun to explore, and provides a simple way to make music that helps you feel really good.” with maybe just a simple image of a pan.
