Here’s What Our Students Are Saying

I took vocal lessons with Prana and in the few sessions we had together it was truly a transformation experience. They knew exactly how to meet me where I was at with compassion and understanding and help me get closer towards my goals.

Ezra R.

I am so lucky to continue to be a student of a very special soul who believes we all can be musicians and has provided the tools, guidance and patience to help make that happen. Whether you’re a beginner or a talented player, Prana is a quietly powerful key to success and discovery!

Grace N.

I recently completed five singing bowl lessons, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. Prana’s gentle, informative approach made each session enjoyable and deeply enriching. His knowledge and skill made learning feel easy, and I always felt supported.

FAQs

What can I expect from music lessons as a complete beginner?

You can expect a supportive, encouraging environment that helps you build confidence in your musical ability from day one. Lessons start with the basics—how to hold your instrument, create sound, understand simple rhythm, and develop good technique. You’ll move at a comfortable pace, with plenty of guidance and practical exercises that make learning feel approachable and rewarding. No prior musical experience is required.

What instruments do you teach at Sound Artist Music School?

We offer instruction across a variety of instruments and musical styles, allowing students to explore what resonates with them most. While our specialty is handpan, we also offer instruction for piano, guitar, percussion, voice, sound healing, and more! If you’re unsure which path is right for you, a discovery session can help you explore your options to find the best fit.

Do you offer local workshops year-round?

Yes, our workshops here in Centerport, New York are offered throughout the year. They provide opportunities for immersive learning, community connection, and deeper exploration of specific musical topics. Availability may vary, so it’s always best to check the current schedule of upcoming events.

Can I switch lesson types later on?

Absolutely. Many students start with one format and later transition to another as their goals evolve. You can move from group lessons to private lessons for more personalized focus, or join group sessions to experience collaborative music-making. Flexibility is built into the learning process, so your lessons can grow with you as you progress.

How do I decide between private and group lessons?

Private lessons are ideal if you prefer individualized attention, customized pacing, and focused skill development. Group lessons are a great fit if you enjoy learning alongside others, building rhythm together, and staying motivated through community interaction. Your schedule, learning style, and personal goals will help determine which option feels right. (And as mentioned above, you can always adjust later on!)
